“NO MATTER WHAT”

Rev. Howard K. Hammond

Pastor Howard K. Hammond is one of three children born in the District of Columbia to the Reverend Dr. and Mrs. W. Buford Hammond.  He completed his early education in the Maryland Public School System and upon graduation attended Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. While there, he majored in English with an emphasis in Technical Writing.  Later, he attended Washington Bible College.

Pastor Hammond accepted his call into the ministry in November of 1986 and became an Associate Minister at Shepherd Park Community Church of God in Washington, DC. He served under the leadership of his father and Senior Pastor, the late Dr. W. Buford Hammond.
 
In the summer of 1989, he was installed as Associate Pastor; a position he returned to after a 6 month interim Pastorate at Monroe Street Church of God in Baltimore, Maryland.  Pastor Hammond was licensed in 1989 and ordained into the Christian Ministry in 1993.
 
Reverend Hammond served as the Senior Pastor of Brockington Street Church of God in Timmonsville, South Carolina from 1995 to 1999.  In July of 1999, he accepted the call and returned to Washington, DC to pastor Shepherd Park Community Church of God. On March 15, 2013, God richly blessed Shepherd Park to purchase a new Worship Center located in Springdale, MD. To reflect the church’s new beginning and new location, the church changed its name and is now Springdale Community Church.
 
Pastor Hammond is a wonderful leader, preacher, and teacher. However, he considers his first ministry to be to his family. Pastor Hammond is blessed to be married to a lovely and gifted woman of God, Lady Lakeesha Linning Hammond of Summerville, South Carolina. They are the proud parents of an adult daughter, Brittanie Jordon.
