Our Associate Pastor, Rev. Sawyer, loves the Lord with all of her heart and loves to praise Him.  She lives her life to the glory of God and shapes her ministry after I John 4:4 which states, “Greater is He that is within me, than he that is in the world.”


Rev. Jacqueline E. Sawyer 

Rev. Jacqueline E. Sawyer is the fifth of seven children born in Darlington, South Carolina to Mr. Curtis Sawyer, Jr. and Mrs. Deloris Jackson Sawyer.  She completed her early education in the Darlington/Florence County School System then attended Columbia College in Columbia, SC where, in 1983, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In 1989, Rev. Sawyer received her Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.
 

Raised in the Lee Street Church of God in Darlington, SC under the leadership of Pastor Owens Powell, Rev. Sawyer was saved at the age of 10. She received and accepted her call to the Christian Ministry in 1991. Licensed in 1992 and ordained in 2000 by the South Carolina State Presbytery, Rev. Sawyer served the early years of her calling as an Associate Minister at Lee Street under the Pastoral guidance of Rev. Bobby Damon.
 

A gifted administrator, Rev. Sawyer was elected to serve as Youth President of the South Carolina State Presbytery in 1994. After 6 years of distinguished service and much prayer, Rev. Sawyer vacated this position when she accepted the call to serve as the first Youth Minister of the Shepherd Park Community Church of God in Washington, DC in June 2000.
 

Rev. Sawyer has been a tremendous blessing since coming to the Springdale Community Church Family (formerly Shepherd Park Community Church of God). After 11 years of faithful stewardship over the Youth Ministry, Rev. Sawyer was elevated and installed on May 1, 2011 as the Associate Pastor of Springdale Community Church.
